Real easy clock. Super strong glass (10 cups).
1000 watts - coffee hot enough.
Takes a few min to brew - but with the programable clock no problem.
Basket filter - NOT cone shape- ( oh well ).
The clock shows you how long the coffee has been sittin since it was brewed...neat.
Looks great on counter and plug wire stores in the back of maker.

CONS: Stays real wet inside...with dew....all day...kind of weird?

Would say it was well worth what I paid!

Check the dates on the reviews at this site and you will see that after about 10 months these things start to self-destruct.

Apparently they were released before they had all the bugs worked out OR they it is just bad engineering.

Regardless, I just hope they are not unloading the lemon as replacements and/or selling them online.... of course it is quite possible that they have still not fixed the problems(s).

Today , I get to call the company and see if they will replace and how fast.

I will let you know how that goes!

... I got this coffeemaker when my old Braun (a model a step down from this- without the time feature) bit the dust after 14 years. To me, the coffee I get from a Braun is consistently better tasting than other models. Before I got this, I tried cheaping out and getting a Hamilton Beach that was onsale at Kmart, because I couldn't find a Braun in a brick-and-mortar store. After a week of the Hamilton Beach I ordered this Braun online because the coffee was tasteless, it took FOREVER to brew one cup, and the carafe was hard to clean.

What I like about this Braun is that it brews VERY quickly, the coffee tastes good, it is easy to clean, and easy to program for automatic brewing. I have not been using the gold filter - I got grounds in my cup once - and I"m used to using paper so I just don't use the gold one, no big deal.

The only minor thing I don't like is, that the clock for automatic brewing is losing time. In 2 weeks it loses about 2 minutes. I can deal with this by reprogramming the correct time, but it is annoying.

All in all though, I would recommend this product. It was a good deal for the money and I hope it lasts me another 14 years. ...

For the longest time, I've been looking for a device which can make coffee & tea - hot chocolate is a bonus and not a necessity. I went to Bed Bath & Beyond, K-Mart, Walmart, Target and dozens of other stores I cannot even begin to recall.

I'll cut to the point: I found this 3-in-1 beverage center, purchased it immediately and could not possibly be happier. The electric tea kettle boils quickly, has 4 different temperature settings: Coffee, Tea, Hot Chocolate or Boil. It brings the water to the proper temperature quickly, is easy to clean and easy to use.

Also, I am partial to French Press coffee makers, which always seem to make the best coffee. If you haven't had a French Press before, get this. It's more than worth it and will make some fantastic coffee.

I could not be happier with this purchase and highly recommend it to everyone looking for an all-in-one device. ...

First off, the carafe is impossible to pour without spilling water/coffee everywhere, esp. with a full pot. Try as I may, the minute you start pouring, the bulk of the liquid starts running down the side of the pot as opposed to in the cup.

Second, and most importantly, the coffee from this device tastes like absolute garbage. The same coffee I use at home in my Cuisinart that tastes wonderful is somehow transformed into bitter-tasting black sludge in the B&D model. Granted, I don't expect miracles here, but it should at least be drinkable.

Bottom line: don't waste your money on this piece of crap. Anything has to be better than this. ...

... I have just purchased a Keurig Model B66 "Ultimate" and tried it out within the hour. My first opinions on this model are:

On a negative note... I found that the sound is noticeable when the unit is pumping the water into its heater. The individual K-Cup coffee containers while convenient, are costly per cup.

On the positive side... I drink black coffee and I feel that this unit does heat the water to a sufficient temperature and brews a drinkable cup of coffee very quickly. Another plus... Keurig also offers a solution for the "costly per cup servings" in that it sells a reusable coffee filter as an accessory. (This filter will permit you to use your own coffee which relates to a much lower cost per cup.)

My biggest regret about purchasing this particular model is that I didn't notice that the largest cup this unit brews is only ten (well 9.25) ounces... and not the twelve ounce mug size that I consider to be "my" standard size cup. In all fairness I can't find fault with Keurig for that because it clearly states the cup brewing size right on the back of the box. ...

I am not going to tell you the specifics of how a Bunn makes coffee; the previous reviewer did it very well and if you have ever eaten in a restaurant, doughnut shoppe, or coffee shop you have probably seen one.

I use the VP 17 in my home. You may ask why since this is really intended for commercial use. Well I have owned this unit for nearly four years without a hiccup. Grind the beans, pour the pre-measured amount of filtered (I made a mark with a permanent marker on the water jug) water and viola - the same identically made cup of coffee day after day in less than two minutes!!!

I mean I am drinking coffee in less time than most makers are just thinking about heating the water, and it is the same cup day after day after day. No surprises.

It does cost more than your usual home unit, but this thing is built like a Sherman Tank and if you actually needed it could produce enough coffee to take care of a small army. Four gallons an hour - can you imagine how long (like maybe days) it would take your average home coffee maker to brew that much coffee.

Like the other reviewer stated it is an extravagance but if you want to quickly and reliably brew your morning coffee it is a neat way to do it.

To sum it up a friend asked does it really make better coffee - to which I replied not only that but it looks damn COOL doing it. Makes a neat statement in addition to a great cup of joe.

... We were initially very pleased with this machine. It broke within the warranty period. Subsequently dealing with their "customer care" center has been anything but caring. We were first told that it would be no problem to repair the machine and at no cost to us, based on our serial number. Subsequently, we shipped it, at our expense, to the closest repair place as recommended by Tassimo (there are very few in Canada and none in Toronto). Tassimo is now refusing to cover the cost of the repair as promised or to help us further(they are now saying we were given incorrect information by their customer service representative and they will speak to him!). We have been given the runaround for 2 weeks by Tassimo's care center, costing us time and money in phone calls etc. Further, the machine with very moderate use, broke quickly! It just stopped working one morning after making a cup coffee. Do not buy this product if you expect it to last more than a year and more importantly if there is a problem Tassimo will not stand behind it's warranty or it's product. Too bad, we liked the machine and the coffee while it lasted. We will buy from a competitor next. We were a loyal, repeat customer, which was of no interest to this company. (Note; the repair would be about $70, which we certainly could afford but based on our experience, we will not deal with this company further.) Be very wary of what this company promises.

... This is our first experience with a Tassimo coffee maker and we're delighted - almost feel as though we've emerged from the Stone Age to the 21st century!

We're very much of the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" thought, so we felt no need for a new coffee maker. But, curiosity and favorable reports got the best of us and we now have this Bosch. What a treat!

The printed directions accompanied by illustrations are easy to follow. The booklet holds directions in several languages as well as Troubleshooting pages. (To date, we've had no trouble - only great coffee). The cleaning process is simple and quick, and the piercing unit is easily rinsed under running water.

So far, our favorite T-discs are the Starbucks Caffe Verona and the Carte Noir Breakfast Blend. Life is good but better with this Bosch!

October 7, 2008: We figured out what's wrong with it. The lid's the culprit. If you make sure there're no coffee grounds clogging the lid, it'll work fine.
About its features: It's a sleek-looking yet pretty simple coffeemaker. Apart from the timer function, there are no settings you can adjust (brew strength, small pot or anything). But the coffee it produces is great, and it doesn't take too long to brew, either. I wouldn't buy it again, though. Too fiddly.

... I researched espresso machines for a long time before finally settling on the Aroma SS Redesign (round push buttons instead of toggle switches). Probably like you, I have a long history of buying expensive gadgets, only to quickly grow bored with them. Well, I bought the machine in late February and have used it nearly every day since.

I used to love Dunkin Donuts coffee! But, I could never replicate it at home. Well, I can make lattes now- and they're better than $tarbuck$. It wasn't hard to learn, either. It takes me about 15 mins to make the espresso, froth two servings of milk and clean the machine. My Saeco Aroma has already paid for itself. If you get a tamper, cleaning the machine is much easier (the coffee doesn't get up in it). But cleaning it still stinks.

I think this is a very good entry level machine. The SS version is well made. It is very easy to use. There were some accessories missing that you'll need/ will make your life easier:
1. A frothing pitcher and thermometer. I bought a combo kit with a SS pitcher from C&B for $15ish.
2. A 53mm tamper. The 53 mm one fits perfectly in the portafilter. I bought an aluminum one from Rattleware on Amazon for $20. It really makes things easier.

3. Brewing pitcher. Saeco doesn't give you anything to really brew the espresso in. I bought two 5 oz brewing pitchers, again from Rattleware on Amazon. They make things easier as well.

4. Coffee. I like Lavazza- it has a little bite. My GF likes Illy some and d'Aquino more (available online and from Trader Giotto's!). I don't think you need an espresso grinder.

By the way, you can get the SS version of the Aroma for $279 at Co$tco. That was the best deal I could find.

I love my Saeco Aroma. I now look forward to waking up in the morning so that I can enjoy a latte... and I'm not a morning person! GF loves it, too! I joke with her that the only reason she stays with me is for the lattes. If you have $300 to spend on a very good entry level espresso machine (or if your GF is threatening to leave you), you could do a lot worse than this one. Consider yourself warned: you won't be able to drink the swill at $tarbuck$ and you may develop a latte "problem!"

While we understand that these situations occur with electical appliances arriving via a delivery service my real issue is with Capresso's "customer service". Never have we been treated with such arrogance, rudeness, and disdain as we have been treated by Capresso's customer service department. This has been the most difficult and unpleasant purchasing experience we have ever endured.
While we hope this is an exteme rather than a typical experience with this company both the fact that the machines have not worked and that the customer service department of the manufacturer was incapable of handling simple customer relations and questions lead me to recommend that buyers look to another manufacturer before purchasing a product by Jura-Compresso. If you do decide to purchase a Capresso product, as much as we like the convenience of Amazon, we would highly recommend purchasing their products from a bricks and mortar retailer and checking the machine in the store prior to taking it home. ...

I do like this coffee maker alot. I have been a multiple Krups owner. The last coffee maker I owned was a DeLonghi which was bought at Target. It had more options and was less money. I don't think it lasted even a year before it started to turn off before the pot of coffee was done brewing, or would not turn itself off after 2 hours. I wanted to buy The DCM900 before I had bought the one from Target but could not get myself to spent the extra dough to get it. The one from Target was 50$ and became a fire hazard I thought. So after looking back at the DCM900 on Amazon I found one in my price range. Yeah it is alot of money for a coffee maker that is not loaded with tons of options, but the style and performance are great. It is kind of kool when people come by and they say wow nice coffee maker. No I can't program it to make my coffee before I wake up, and it does not grind my beans for me, but how many people are willing to to say to themselves am I crazy for paying that much for a coffee maker and do it?

... I recently asked for a cup of joe at a friend's house and they showed me their Keurig B60. They let me pick my own flavor and showed me how easy it was to make a cup of coffee with it. I was amazed at how fast this gourmet coffee was ready and how little there was to do for clean up. When I got home I researched it.

The only differences between the B60 and B66 is the color of the machine and quantity of sample K-Cups. The B60 is almost all black with a chrome handle while this B66 has a black body, silver top and chrome handle. The B60 gives you the standard 18 pack K-Cup sample, while the B66 gives you an additional 4 18-packs of samples AND a reusable "My K-Cup". The My K-Cup is a reusable filter you can put your own coffee in if you really want to (kind of defeats the purpose).

After using both the B60 and B66 I can tell you they both work EXACTLY the same. Any review you see for B60 has the same features, benefits, and shortfalls as the B66.

I'm the only coffee drinker in my house so it became a big pain to measure out beans, grind them, empty them from the grinder into the coffee maker, add the water, then wait for the coffee. Plus when you're done you have to discard the used filter / grounds and any left over coffee and clean the carafe and maybe the drip mechanism as well.

THE KEURIG IS ALMOST 100% MAINTENANCE / CLEANING FREE. It has a 48 oz water reservoir so you don't need to refill daily. The cleanup is just taking the used K-Cup and throwing it out. There's no grinding of beans or cleaning necessary and I don't have to spend 1/2 an hour to make 2 cups of coffee.

Some other nice benefits are that it also makes tea, hot cocoa and plain ole hot water (for Ramen or other uses). It also has a cool blue LED and blue lit water tank. The auto-on and off features help you save time and money. The 90 K-Cups the B66 gives you should last a long time and help you decide which blend of coffee(s) you prefer most. The water reservoir is also dishwasher safe.

The cons are few and far between. It is noisy when it starts and finishes making a cup of coffee. The water intake makes a loud vibrating noise when it pumps water in or out of the internal reservoir. This doesn't bother me, my wife, or my infant son. The strength of the 9.25 oz versus the 5.25 ounce cup is diminished. It's just the amount of water being used on the same amount of grounds. So if you want a regular 9.25 oz coffee you should probably use a strong K-Cup. Refill K-Cups are somewhat expensive, but it's WAY less then a gourmet coffee shop. If you look around and use coupons it's a great way to save.

I've had the coffee maker for 3 days now and I couldn't be prouder of my purchase. I look forward to my daily coffee finally!

One last note, if you're going through a carafe or more of coffee a day, you may want to think about whether or not it's a cost savings or worth the time savings for you. But for me, this is the best product I've come across in a while. ...

since this is a review I feel obligated to point out a negative -My biggest complaint would have to be the on/off toggle switch -because the machine is such a light weight -you have to physically hold down the machine to toggle the switch- otherwise you end up pushing the entire machine across the counter and the switch will still not budge. so be prepared to use two hands every time you want to turn off or turn on the machine. other than that- not a bad machine for the price.
I would agree with some of the other posts about the swing filter holder being a bitch to put back on. definetly needs a little manipulation to put back on. but..it will last you forever.

A lot of folks don't know that coffee makers and mills NEED to be cleaned regularly for the purest flavor. I learned that from a friend that worked for a corporate coffee chain that begins with "S".

I appreciate that I can cleanse not only my coffee carafe and filter basket, as well as my grinder in the sink or dishwasher! You know that grimy grunge that forms in your coffee filter basket- even though you rinse it daily? Not tasty in my coffee! A bit disappointing is that one still has to wipe out the inside of the grinder/filter area once parts are removed. Not a big deal, but yeah, an extra step I could do without.

A grind and brew with a (vacuum) carafe, that would be a step up (to keep the coffee hot for longer periods). I don't like 'overcooked' coffee that's been on a burner for more than a few minutes. So, if you have a crowd or just one person, this unit works just fine. ...

I enjoy a good cup of coffee and for some odd reason I like coffee gadgets. I own a black and decker single serve, a Keruirg, and a Senso pod machine, that is in addition to a Bran 10 cup maker.

The Hamilton Beach brews the best single cup, using ground coffee. While it is comes with a pod adapter, the machine excels with using grounds. I have used it with Number 1 filters, just for easier clean up but without the filter clean up is not a big deal. Of all my machines I would rate this number #1 in terms of brewing coffee. It has the advantage of not depending upon K-cups or pods if cost is your concern. I have used pods in this but it only does an ok job with that.

The next best single coffee maker is as crazy as it seems a $16 black and decker brew and go. The Black and Decker is sort of a mini me Mr. Coffee. The quality of the brew is just a bit less than the Hamilton Beach but that is not intended to be a negative, just a comparison. I think for the price, ease of use and quality it is an excellent choice. Remember I said I like coffee gadgets so I am not exactly hung up on spending a bit of money on stuff, hey my wife likes shoes I like coffee gadgets, go figure.

The Keuring is an excellent little machine it shares the counter with the Hamilton Beach. Pop in a K-cup add water, push the button and the results are very good. I have the B30 that requires you to add a cup of water each time, therefore no water tank. K-cups are a bit more expensive than pods or ground coffee, but in terms of ease of use, clean up and quality of the cup of coffee, a good choice and has earned a spot in my coffee machine rotation.

The Senseo is not high on my list and now sits in the closet with other used coffee gadgets, such as my grinder. The Senseo is noisy, and after you have brewed you cup it drips slightly requiring a clean up. The used pod is like a soggy tea bad and disposing of that a task. I never found the quality of the coffee worth the trouble of using the pods at home. If you are looking for a pod machine there are better choices, such as the small Cuisinart that does a good job and have used that numerous times in hotel rooms and a much better choice than the Senso..

In summary the Hamilton Beach makes a great cup of coffee, once you get over the odd design. ...

... This single shot coffee machine is marketed as "Juan Valdez" system but it's actually a relabeled Melitta ONE. The pods that fit are of course the "Juan Valdez" but can also be Melitta but you'll find (a) they are difficult to find on grocery shelves and (b) not all that good. Senseo pods (Senseo Phillips Senseo Medium Roast Pods also fit if you tuck them in well but the double pods (latte) won't fit in the holder. Senseo pods are widely available in most groceries and that's what I use. They have several flavors (Sumatra, Medium, Dark, Decaf and a very acceptable Parisian with vanilla flavor.)

If you don't tuck any of these pods in JUST so, water will leak around the filter and down into your cup. Not only that, the large cup button (on the right) is rather weak coffee. I use the 6 oz Euro cup setting on the left for a stronger brew. The reservoir is also rather small,to create a nice narrow footprint, so after a few cups you will have to refill the translucent vessel in the back. The machine heats up, blinks while the the element heats, and then goes solid red. You press either left (small) or right (tall) and the coffee fills into your mug beneath. If the water is too low, the light blinks rapidly. Very easy to use. Cleanup is simply dumping the damp filter out and washing out the filter sieve, if you like. This fits in a compact office space. ...

... I have owned both old and new versions of the Bunn home coffee machine. I have gone through 3 of the home brewers in an office environment where they work 24 hrs. a day and are never subject to deliming or other maintenance .. other than normal washing.

At home I've owned Bunn home coffee machines for the last 20 years; I'm on my 5th one. Forget the Mr. Coffee and those digital-timer wonders that are ok, but just don't work that well.

I have noticed quality control issues with the newer models that are a little disturbing .. I don't like the straight design of the new coffee decanter ... the old onion-dome classic is what I really liked because the decanter just worked better .. balance with a full pot in hand, no spilling or sloushing problems .. and yes, it goes naturally back where it is supposed to go .. wish Bunn would get this right again and just give us the retro-classic machine!

Secondly, my older machines all lasted longer than the newer models .. which have problems with the lighted switch sometimes going out .. and the older machine was just better built .. even the switches (a very simple design) was superior to the cheap switches they now use .. and replacement is expensive for what you get.

Nothwithstanding these problems the Bunn home brewer makes excellent coffee and does it fast .. wish they'd get control of the quality issues and make replacement parts less expensive .. I recently lost that little sprayhead .. probably a 30 cent part that costs you $7 for shipping alone, c'mon Bunn .. as much as these machines go for new .. you should just give these away.

PS: the old decanter was much better .. I don't like the new decanter and don't care that it is made from Schott glass .. it feels too thin; and more importantly the styling is terrible. ...

I have since recommended it to many people, and had I written a review then, I'd have given it a 5-star. But I'm giving it a 3-star now, you can see something happened.

For some reason, no amount of tweaking can alter the original design flaws any more, I can no longer be sure I'll have a good cup...the unit simply cut off prematurely more than half of the times, I'm not too thrilled about it. I remember reading similar complaint somewhere and thiught I wouldn't be so unlucky, oh well.

Now I am going to get a Cona Vacuum coffee maker, I held off six months ago and bought the Santos instead because I thought I might break the Cona at some point and it'd be expensive to replace, plus, electric unit seemed less fuss to me; but now I'm replacing the Santos, $80 for six months, that's not a good deal at all.
I suppose I can still use it to pre-heat the water for my Cona, so that's not a total lost...just try to make myself feel better.

I do have a question for Bodum: This product has been in the market for years, Bodum must have known all the design flaws, and it has no intention of discontinuing it. So why hasn't it corrected the problems during all these years? As a matter of fact, when I decided to purchase this six months ago, I thought Bodum must have done something to improve this product after all these years, I am very disappointed. ...
