... We registered for this coffee maker when we got married in August 2005. We loved it, and it worked great for years, but we woke up the other morning (May 2009) and it just stopped working. We put the water in the reservoir, grounds in the basket, pressed start, and then the digital face read ERROR2 accompanied by a loud beep. Several attempts have been made to resuscitate our old friend, but apparently the message means that the heating mechanism is busted and there is no saving it. Other reviews have shown people having this problem after a much shorter period of use, so my recommendation is to invest in a coffee maker that doesn't have a rather consistent history of crapping out for no reason at all. Especially at this price point. We are going to try the cuisinart 1200 12-cup coffee maker next because of all the good reviews. ...
